Hofner Bankruptcy

As many of you now know after over 100 years in business, Hofner declared bankruptcy last December. There have been a lot of false rumors and speculations about the situation, and as a Hofner dealer for the past half century, I can tell you what I have heard from my contacts inside

the company. They do have another two months to come up with a plan. While the official statement is that until they will continue producing instruments in Germany during that period, however, they would not take new orders from me. I do have a few more German made basses arriving next week. We will sell them at our regular low prices. I have purchased a new one for myself as they are quite honestly better than my 1965 bass that I am putting up for sale now. It is likely that someone will purchase the name, and have similar looking instruments made in Asia. It is less likely, although possible, that someone my come to their rescue. I will keep you posted.
