Billy Gibbons Les Paul?

Mark Erlewine, is a renown custom guitar builder. He has built numerous fantastic instruments for artists such as Johnny Winter, and Billy Gibbons. Billy wanted a few 1959 Les Paul copies so that he didn't have to take the real thing on the road. He wanted the instruments to be as authentic as possible, and asked Mark to make them for him. The story goes that Mark used genuine Gibson necks and made the rest. Billy is said to have given one to Ted Nugent. This guitar has a 1959 serial number and compared the head stock with an original 50s Les Paul. The shape is perfect, the logo location is off slightly, but that is likely to have shifted from year to year. The pick ups are made by Tim Shaw. I sent photos of this guitar to Mark Erlewine and he would neither deny or confirm that he built it. This really looks, feels, and plays like a '59 Les Paul. It has a very minor headstock crack that Beau could make disappear completely, that in no way compromises the structural integrity of the instrument. Pots have been changed and Grovers were added decades ago.

$4000 with old Gibson hard case.
